Lymphoma

Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that originate in the lymphatic system, primarily affecting lymph nodes but also potentially involving organs like the spleen, liver, and bone marrow. The two main types are Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. On ultrasound, lymphoma commonly presents as enlarged, round, hypoechoic lymph nodes that have lost their normal fatty hilum. Splenic involvement may appear as splenomegaly with focal hypoechoic lesions, while liver involvement can manifest as diffuse infiltration or discrete masses. Sonography is valuable for identifying suspicious lymph nodes, guiding biopsies, and monitoring treatment response over time.
