Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)

Medical Condition • Diagnosed with Ultrasound

Clinical Overview

Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is defined as estimated fetal weight below the 10th percentile for gestational age, associated with placental insufficiency and perinatal morbidity. Serial ultrasound biometry (BPD, HC, AC, FL) tracks growth velocity. Doppler evaluation of umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, and ductus venosus waveforms assesses fetal hemodynamic compromise and guides delivery timing.
