Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (B.S.M.I.R.S.) with a concentration in Sonography. Clinical training covers abdomen-extended, obstetrics, gynecology, adult cardiac (echocardiography), vascular, and neurosonography sonography. Completers are eligible to sit for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) credentialing examinations associated with each specialty area, which graduates may sit for up to 60 days before graduation. Admission typically requires a minimum of about 64 semester hours of general education including prerequisite coursework in anatomy, physiology, chemistry, physics, college algebra, medical vocabulary, and English composition, completed with grades of C or better. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in Abdominal-Extended, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Adult Cardiac, and Vascular sonography.
