Southern Illinois University Carbondale offers a CAAHEP-accredited Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences with a Diagnostic Medical Sonography specialization, the only accredited bachelor’s-level general sonography program in Illinois. The program combines two years of foundational coursework with on-campus scan labs and a senior-year clinical internship in abdominal and OB/GYN ultrasound. Graduates are eligible for ARDMS credentialing examinations prior to graduation.
