Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is an independent, non-profit organization that grants credentials to cardiovascular and vascular health professionals. Founded in 1968, CCI administers multiple registry examinations for cardiac and vascular sonographers, ECG technicians, and cardiovascular specialists. CCI credentials are widely recognized by employers alongside ARDMS credentials for cardiac and vascular sonography positions.

Examination: CCI offers examinations including RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), RCCS (Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer), ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer), RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist), and CCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician). Exams are computer-based and require a combination of education and clinical experience prerequisites.

Distinguished from: ARDMS RDCS credential — both certify cardiac sonographers but CCI’s RCS exam is offered as an alternative path
