Dr. James Mateer, MD, RDMS, is the Medical Director of the Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GUI) and a pioneer in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency medicine. Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he serves as Planner and Quality Improvement Task Force chair for all GUI CME activities. Dr. Mateer was among the earliest emergency physicians to champion bedside ultrasound and has contributed extensively to the development of emergency and critical care POCUS education across the United States.
