The program has operated since 1996. It runs two years, full time, with a new class beginning each fall semester. Students complete classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and supervised clinical rotations at sites in the Houston area, including more than 1,200 clinical hours in cardiac and vascular scanning. Graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, offered in tracks for adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography, or vascular sonography.
