The apical four-chamber view is one of the most important standard echocardiographic windows, obtained by placing the transducer at the cardiac apex with the beam directed toward the base of the heart. It displays all four chambers (left and right ventricles, left and right atria), the mitral and tricuspid valves, and the interventricular and interatrial septa simultaneously. This view is essential for assessing ventricular size and function, valvular disease, septal defects, and calculating ejection fraction using the biplane Simpson’s method.
