Bunker Hill Community College offers a variety of academic programs, including General Sonography and Cardiac Sonography. The General Sonography program prepares students for careers in diagnostic medical sonography with a focus on ultrasound physics, abdominal sonography, and more. Students undergo Criminal Offender Record Information and Sex Offender Registry Information checks for clinical placements. Graduates can work in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. The program equips students to recognize normal anatomic structures and Doppler flow patterns, operate ultrasound equipment, and discuss the biologic effects of ultrasound.
